July/August 2015

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

I am glad that I can continue to look unto Jesus in this chaotic world that we live in.  I am also thrilled that my hope is built on Christ alone.

     Furlough

I really cannot think of any other words to say than “God has been so good”.  Since we have been back in the USA (which is seven months), we have traveled 31,881 miles, into fourteen states, and had the privilege to visit fifty-nine churches.  On the physical side it has been a little tiring; but it has been good to spend time with those who have been praying for us throughout these years and partnering with us financially as well.

As I write this letter, our oldest son, Philip, is getting his things together, as we will be headed to Pensacola Christian College on Friday to help him get set up for this new phase in our lives.  He will be majoring in Accounting.  We covet your prayers for him at school and for us as we start to learn the process of becoming an empty nester.  I know we have several more years before all of our children are gone, but the process has begun.

     Court Case

We are still in a holding pattern, waiting on the judge; so we just continue to pray daily that God would work in the heart of the judge and his group as He also works in our hearts and lives, teaching us daily to trust HIM more.

     House Building

I know I mentioned this in the last prayer letter.  When we return to Brazil, I will need to build a house to live in.  Some have shown interest in coming to help build.  Some have already contacted me about this.  To better optimize the time and the experience of those coming, if you would contact me and let me know of your plans I would greatly appreciate that.  My number is 423-667-3941

     Our Return to Brazil

Before we know it we will be back in Brazil.  We are excited to see how God has been orchestrating His will in our lives.  When we return to Brazil, we will not be going back to the state of Acre.  Those works have been turned over to nationals.  God is placing us back where I grew up.  We are headed to the city of Varzea Grande, where we will be working with my brother Peter in the camp ministry; which will include helping with the preparations of camps, maintenance, paperwork and whatever else is needed at camp.

We will also be church planting.  This is our main focus.  God has already given us a piece of property with a building on it to start a new work.  It is approximately seven miles from camp.  We are excited about these changes as we see God and His Word working in and through our lives.

Thank you for your faithfulness in partnering with us through prayer and financial giving.  May God richly bless you for what you do on our behalf.
