JULY/AUGUST 2020

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name

under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12

The last few months have been a bit challenging for us here as I am sure it has been for most everyone.  We have had services start and stop and restart with all the Covid-19.  In our city, since our last letter, things have really escalated.  Several from the church have had the virus, and it finally got to us as well.   Since Kelly and I got the virus, and I did not have anyone that could take over services, I had to cancel services again for two weeks.  I had planned to do services online from the house but was unable to since I would start coughing when I started talking.  Thankfully that chapter is behind us, and we were able to have services once again on August 19th.  It was good to be back in church in fellowship with others.  One praise through all of this was Benjamin never got sick.  He was exposed as we did not isolate from one another but never had any symptoms.

We still have a big challenge with the church, since some have left and have not returned.  We continually are inviting new people and witnessing to them.  Please pray for us as we try to reach the people here with the gospel, that the Holy Spirit would convince them of their lost condition, and they would repent.  We are trying to get in the homes to do Bible studies.  Pray with us for open doors.

The work on the all-purpose building (gym) had come to a halt with all the virus issues, but we are getting that back on track to get the concrete floor poured.  Thank you for all that have prayed and contributed towards it.  We have sufficient funds to finish the project and Lord willing, should be finished soon.  We still are not able to have activities with the children as schools and parks are still closed and the city is not allowing it.  As soon as we are able to work with the children again, the gym should be finished and ready to be used.

We are thankful that God has met another need as we had prayed about coming back to the US for a furlough.  A young missionary family will be taking over the work for us so we can take a seven-month furlough.  We will be headed back on November the 16th.  Our home church has a place for us to stay, so we plan on making Jasper, Tennessee, our home when we are not on the road.  Having said that, if you would like for us to come by your church to give an update, please contact me through the email addresses or phone number in the left column.  Due to internet issues sometimes when you call, our phone does not ring.  So please leave a message, and I will get back with you.

Our time in the US will be another one of mixed emotions as our daughter will be getting married in December, and when we return to the field, we will be empty nesters as Benjamin will stay behind to start college.

PRAISE:  1. Recovery from Covid-19.  2. Having services again.  3. Being able to get back on the work of the all-purpose building and the door hangers.

PRAY:  1. Salvation of souls.  2. Men.  3. Wisdom in working with those that have left the church.

Once again, we want to thank you so much for your faithfulness in giving and praying for the work and our family.

Joyfully serving Him,

The Doolittles
