July/August 2018

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Neither is there salvation in any other:

for there is none other name under heaven given among men,

whereby we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12

Church Plant

We are excited to report that three more people accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.  Pedro is 10 years old.  His mother is Suellen and step-dad is João Paulo whom also recently have been saved.  Ketlyn also is 10 and she rides the church van.  She lives right in front of the property that the church bought. Andréia is a lady that recently gave her life to Christ.  She has spent much time studying with some Jehovah’s Witnesses, so she has a lot of questions.  In the in-home Bible study that Kelly is doing with her, Kelly is explaining things very slowly always pointing to Scripture for her to understand.  Please pray for Andréia and her walk with God, and pray for the salvation of her husband, Adriano.

In the first part of July, my brother-in-law, pastor Antonio, and my sister, Lawanda, came to visit us.  We had a wonderful time together.  We were able to show them some of the natural beauty that we have here, but more refreshing was being able to rejoice in what God has done and is doing in our ministries.  While they were here, Lawanda spoke at the ladies Bible study we have once a month.  It was at this meeting that Andréia came for the first time.  She really liked it and came back for some of our regular services.  Lawanda was also able to speak at our children’s Bible club.  She was a blessing to both these groups.

Property

Now that the property is paid for, we had a work day where the people from the church came together.  We cut down all the trees on the property, starting the clearing process.  Then we had a tractor come in and remove the stumps and level things off. We have also been working on finishing the wall that was lacking on one side and closing in the front. A supporting church in Georgia sent us their VBS offering to help with this project, and we also had a supporting church in Tennessee send a large offering.  What a blessing as we had enough to completely finish the wall on the side and to cover the expenses of the front wall as well.  We plan on putting a covered area along the side of the wooden house on the property so we can start having our Children’s Bible club there and we also plan to start having one Sunday night service a month on the property.

As far as building a building, we are going to build as the Lord meets the needs. We have been encouraging the people on their responsibility of doing that. We are excited about it though. As you know from our previous letter we had a construction store in town offer to do the plans for the church free of charge and we recently had a supply store offer to donate all the sand that we will need for the construction. We are really excited to see what God is doing and look forward to greater things.

Praises:  1. God’s Faithfulness.  2. Salvation of souls.

Prayer Requests:  1. Salvation of souls.  2. The spiritual growth of the believers here.
