March/April 2016

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

Col 2:6 -7

What a privilege it is to serve our great God and see Him work in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

These past two months have been a bit busy.  We had the opportunity to help out with the youth camp.  We had over 80 campers, and God did a great work.  The feedback that we have received has been very encouraging.  Pastor William, from the southern part of Brazil, was the main speaker, and he did a wonderful job in challenging all our hearts to build spiritual walls of protection and separation.  He and his family were a tremendous blessing.  With every camp there is a lot of work to be done in preparation, both during and afterwards.  God has given us the strength to be able to help in many areas of camp in which we are thankful.

In a couple of weeks we are having the ladies retreat.  Kelly will be the speaker for this camp, and I ask you to pray for her that God would use her in a great way.

Starting in the month of May, we will be cleaning up and doing necessary repairs to the building where we will be starting the church.  This week we will be putting steel grids over the windows and doors.  The building has been broken into in the past, and a few weeks ago, they broke in again.  Even though we do not have any of our things in it yet, they break in and steal whatever they can such as electrical wiring and so forth.  So before we move in, we want to make it a bit more secure.

We are still working on the house.  It has been going slower than we would have liked, but we are just taking it one step at a time.  Pray that we would be patient in this process and trust the Lord as He guides us.

After the ladies retreat, Kelly will be going back to the USA to take Hannah back so she can start her summer work program at college. Kelly will be staying 3 weeks to help get Hannah settled in.   Please pray with us once again with all these changes.  God is in control and we are resting on Him in and through all of this.

Court update

As you know we won the case, but they appealed.  All of the papers, documents for the appeal, have been sent to the judges.  Now it is just a matter of time.  They passed a law in Brazil to try to get cases moving quicker through the courts.  They have to get all the old cases done first.  Our lawyer told us that it could be up to six months before we find out anything.  Please continue to pray with us about this.

Once again I want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and financial support.  Because of your sacrifice, we are able to be here and do the work that God has for us.
