MARCH/APRIL 2020

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name

under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12

I am so thankful that I serve a God Who is the same yesterday, today and forever while I live in a world that seems to be in chaos.  March the 18th the mayor and governor ordered all churches to shut down to prevent the spread of Covid-19.  Since our town had no confirmed cases, and for the most part the city was up and running pretty much as usual (only 2 days of quarantine), it was a bit confusing to us.  But, for testimony sake we did as we were asked.  Our Faith Promise Missions Conference was to begin on the 20th of March, and we were so excited about that.  Unfortunately we had to cancel it.  Also, on the 25th of March was the three-year anniversary of the church.

We had to resort to other methods of services as most of you did as well.  Due to the internet system in town, we were not able to livestream the services as we wanted to do.  So, we would record the services the day before then upload them to the YouTube channel so people could watch.  It was a bit challenging and our equipment was not the best, but we were able to get it done by God’s grace.

As we are studying through the book of Ephesians on Wednesday nights and are on the last chapter, dealing with the armor of God, I challenged people watching to memorize Ephesians 6:13-18.  The first two individuals that quoted this passage would win a prize.  Well the prize was a Bible.  About 450 miles away a young man was watching this on YouTube, and he started memorizing these verses.  Some days later his family contacted me, and they videoed him saying the verses.  Last week his family came up to help us pour some of the footers of the all-purpose building and I gave him his Bible.  He was so excited.

In the shipment of literature that we received from the US, there were some boxes of Bibles as well.  We shipped Bibles to other churches who had a need for them.  This church is about 450 miles from where we are.

Praise the Lord, we have poured five of the twelve footers for the all purpose building (gym).  We hope to get the rest poured this week. It has been a lot of physical work, but it is getting done.  We are so excited and ready to finish it up.

As with many of you who have children that would be walking the stage to receive their diplomas, but was cancelled due to Covid-19, so was Hannah’s graduation from PCC.  Our flight to the US was cancelled as well.  But Hannah is graduating with a degree in nursing, and we are excited for her achievements.   Her plans are still on the go for a wedding in December of this year.  Lord willing, we plan on being back in the US for this.

Even though the church was asked to close the doors, we continued.  As we were out and about working on the church projects and such, always taking the opportunities to tell people about the love of God.  On April the 26th we were able to open the church back up.  What an exciting day it was.  There are some precautions that we must take and certain guidelines to follow, but it sure was good to see the people and hear them sing.

Currently our city has no cases of Covid-19, but the cases in Brazil continue to rise daily.  We know God is in control.  Please keep us in your prayers, and we are certainly praying for you there.

PRAISE:  1. Opportunity to witness during these times.  2. Progress on the church all-purpose building.  3. Having services again!   4.  The way God has supplied all our needs.

PRAYER REQUEST: 1. Salvation of souls.  2.  Those weak in the faith will not give up.  3. Men            4.  God’s protection and guidance.

I cannot tell you how thankful I am for your faithfulness in prayer and giving during this time.  And for many of you contacting us just to check up and see how we are doing.

Joyfully serving Him,
