November/December 2017

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Neither is there salvation in any other:

for there is none other name under heaven given among men,

whereby we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12

Church Plant

It always brings great excitement and joy to see a sinner saved by the grace of God.  In our last letter, we mention a lady (Iracy) with whom Kelly is doing a Bible study.  She started coming to church, and to our great joy God has answered our prayer.  A couple of Sundays ago, she came forward and gave her heart and life to Jesus. God, in His grace and mercy, also saved another person that has been coming.  Adão accepted Jesus that Sunday night as well.  Adão is an older man that had to have his leg amputated at the hip a few years ago.  I started picking him up and bringing him to church, and now he is a new born believer.  Praise the Lord!  Please continue to pray for us and this work.  God is doing great things.

On December 19th, we had a special activity for the children that come to church and the Children’s Bible Club.  Where we live we have a lot of space, and our landlord allowed us to clean and prepare the place for church activities.  So we brought the children out to our house and played water balloon volley ball, basketball, frisbee toss, and corn hole; we also fed them hot dogs and brownies with ice cream.  We had time to share with them once again that Jesus is the only way to heaven.  We had a wonderful time.

We had our Christmas play on Sunday night.  There were 27 people present with several first time visitors.  Iracy, the new convert, brought her husband.  She had told Kelly that he did not like Christians, so we were very surprised to see him come.  His name is Vincente.  Please pray for his salvation.

Property

We are also excited that we already have $4,140 of the $30,000 dollars needed for the land.  God is so good.  We appreciate your prayers and gifts for this property.  If you have not contributed and would like to, you can send your gift to our mission board:  MWBM P.O. Box 519, Braselton, GA 30517.  Just let them know it is for Stephen Doolittle - Land Fund.

Family

God has blessed us with the privilege of having our oldest children, Philip and Hannah, here with us for a month while on Christmas break from college.  We have enjoyed having the whole family together again.  Not only that, they have helped out with the church activities and with some work we wanted to get done around here.  They have been a blessing and encouragement to us.

I have been doing some translating work as well.  While we were home on furlough I met Dr. Ray Bearden.  He asked me to pray and consider translating some of his material into Portuguese. I did, and I am now working on this project as well.  Pray that God will give me the wisdom and time needed to be able to do this work.

A special thank you to the many churches and individuals that gave extra to our family this Christmas.  We trust you had a Merry Christmas and pray that in 2018 each one of us will be compelled to allow God to do greater things in and through our lives.

Thank you once again for praying and giving so we can reach the lost souls here in Guarantã do Norte.
