Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 15:58

Church Plant

Once again we have seen God give the increase.  These past two months two children and one adult gave their hearts to the Lord.  Higor is 10 years old and lives very close to the church.  He has been coming for some time, and we were so excited when he gave his heart to Christ.   His entire family is lost so pray for their salvation.   João Lima got saved when I went to visit him in his home.  He lives by himself in a rough neighborhood.  Just a few days before a young man was stabbed to death in front of his house.  João has never been to school so he does not know how to read, but he understood that a loving God sent His Son to die for him.  The other one saved was Yasmin.  She is 10 years old.  Her mother, Adriana, got saved through the English classes we offer, and she has been very faithful to our services.  Yasmin has also been present in the church services and participating in our Children’s Bible Club.  One Sunday night as I was preaching I noticed that Yasmin was crying.  That night she accepted Christ as her Savior.  I found out later that a lot of the tears that she shed during the service was for her lost grandparents.  They are very strong Catholics and will not have anything to do with anything else.  Please pray that we will be able to reach them with the Gospel.

As I have mentioned before, we live in an area where Catholicism is very strong and many people are descendants of Germans and Italians and some even still speak German.  Since our last letter, we moved to the outskirts of town (which greatly helped us cut some of the living costs here) where many of these descendants live.  Our landlord and neighbor are strong Catholics.  Mr. Darcilio told us before we moved that as long as we do not talk religion we will get along fine.  Pray with us that we can reach him and his wife, Marta, for the Lord.

We continue to stay busy with in home Bible studies.  Kelly has been doing a Bible study with Iraci.  Pray for her salvation.  She has been coming to the services.  We also continue with the discipleship classes with the new converts.  The studies we do are 20 lessons therefore we are in their homes for about 20 weeks.

Property

We are excited to say that we already have 2,100 dollars toward the church land.  If you would like to help with this please send your donations to Macedonia World Baptist Missions designated Stephen Doolittle Land Fund.  Any amount given will be greatly appreciated.

Missionary

I would like to take this space and introduce you to my niece, Jessica, and her husband Alex.  They have been a blessing to us as we have mentioned them in several of our prayer letters.  Last Saturday I had the privilege of preaching in Alex’s ordination service.  We drove the 450 miles to be part of that wonderful occasion.  Not only has he accepted the call to preach but to be a missionary as well.  They will be working in the city of Nova Mutum which is south of us about 300 miles.  They were accepted by Macedonia World Baptist Missions and will be going to the US for a short while to raise some support and then return here for the work that God has for them.  Alex is very passionate about souls.  When he went to Brasilia to get his visa, while at a bus stop he witnessed to a lady while waiting for his ride and won her to the Lord.  So if your church is looking for a missionary, I strongly encourage you to consider Alex.  They will not have to deal with culture shock or language school.  I believe that God is going to do a great work through this family.  By the way, he is the second missionary that our young church plant has taken on for financial support.  If you would like to contact him for further information, his email is, alexelima@mwbm.org.
