September/October 2018

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Neither is there salvation in any other:

for there is none other name under heaven given among men,

whereby we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12

The Lord continues to bless as we continue going forward.  On September 29th we had a special time as we had our first business meeting constituting the church.  The Lord blessed in providing a lawyer that did not charge us for her work.  Then all the documents were sent to the court house where they were registered.  Now we have applied for the tax number and should be getting it next week.  We are so thankful to have this phase done.

In the past two months we have had two more make professions of faith.  Kevelyn is 8 years old and rides the church van.  Heloisa is 14.  Her mother Andréia made a profession a few months before.  We continue with the 20 week in-home Bible studies for the new converts.  Once they finish we encourage Bible study on their own.  We use the Source of Light material which encourages them to develop personal time with the Lord.

On September 23rd, we had another baptism where 3 more were baptized.  We continue reaching out to the people here with the Gospel.  The enemy has blinded them and made them think they do not need HIM, but we know that as long as there is life there is hope, so we continue on.

Edemar has been doing good with the seminary classes.  We are getting near the end of Old Testament survey and will be starting New Testament survey.  He already helps with the devotionals on Sundays and also with driving the church van.  His wife, Milaine, has been helping with teaching the children and has been doing a great job as well.  It is exciting to see them grow in the Lord and make themselves available to HIM.  Please pray that God would raise up men for the work.

We are progressing with the work on the church property as well.  We were able to pull a porch on the side as we had planned to do.  Now we are in the process of building two bathrooms with a storage area in between.  It has been a slow process since Joshua, Benjamin, and I have been doing all the work up to this point.  We should have the foundation poured by Saturday.  It has been great to see some of the people come together in helping with the purchase of the material as we have had donations of tile, brick, cement, and gravel.  We plan on moving the church to the wooden house on the property by the end of the year.  The renters are leaving in the next couple of weeks, and we will be able to remove the inner partitions and do some work to it to make it work as a church auditorium.  In doing that we will be able to save money due to the fact we pay rent on the building that we are in at the moment.

Praises: 1. God’s Faithfulness. 2. Edemar and Milaine  3. Salvation of souls.

Prayer requests: 1. Spiritual growth in our church. 2. Men to serve. 3. Salvation of souls.

Thank you for praying and giving so that we can do the work that God has called us to do here in Guarantã do Norte.  Also, thank you for the cards of encouragement that we have received from you as well.  You are a blessing to our family.
