SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2019

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Acts 4:12

The Bible says in Luke 15:10, “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”  I can say that there is joy as well here in Guarantã do Norte for two sinners that repented.  Two young ladies, Ketlyn (13) and Thais (14), accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  Kelly has already started a Bible study with them.  They live just a few houses down from the church.  Pray for them and their parents, as their parents need the Lord.

The church is doing well.  This past month we broke our Sunday School attendance record with 30 present.  This was very exciting as Sunday morning has been a difficult service for people to attend.  We have more that attend on Sunday night and usually on Wednesday night as well than on Sunday morning.  One good thing is the building is getting too small!  We are getting ready to start working on our all-purpose building.  We are planning on building a 15 by 15-meter covered area that we can use for our kid’s Bible club, a space for fellowship out of the weather and a place we can use when our actual church building is too small.  We have already contacted an engineer that will draw up the plans and register everything with the city, getting us the permits and all that is needed.  The estimated cost of the building is going to be around 10,000 dollars.  This does not include the engineer as well as city and county fees.  We already have 3,000 dollars saved up for this.  Most of the labor will be done by the church members.  Please pray with us that we can get this up and built as soon as possible.  If you would like to help in any way, you can send it to Macedonia World Baptist Missions and mark it for building fund.

The English classes are going well.  One of our students visited the church a couple of Sundays ago with her husband and we were able to make a follow up visit in their home.  Pray for this couple’s salvation.

I know that it has been a long time since we have mentioned the court case, and we were asked by someone about it recently.  As you may recall we won the first hearing.  They appealed that and since then almost 4 years have passed.  The 3 judges have still not even looked at the case.  We know this could take years as the courts here are so slow.  So, we ask you once again to bring this before the throne of God so that it can be put behind us once and for all.

The family is doing great.  I have passed several kidney stones.  They say there was a total of 11 and I have passed 4 of those.  Thankfully the pain is gone, and I am passing them fine.  Thank you for praying.  Kelly and Benjamin stay busy helping in the ministry here.  Philip, Hannah and Joshua are all doing well.  We miss them but are thankful for what God is doing in and through their lives.

As we come to the close of another letter, we know that Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  We are so thankful that God has allowed us to have such a small part in reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Praises: 1. Salvation of Ketlyn and Thais. 2. Visitors that have been coming and visits that have been made. 3.  Getting ready for the building project.

Thank you so much for praying and giving so we can serve the Lord here in Brazil.

From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!!
