Here we are back in Guarantã do Norte, Brazil. We had good flights and are excited to be back. There is always a bit of a transition from furlough to the field, but thankfully all went well. We got back here in the heart of the dry season, so the dust is a bit of an adjustment, but Lord willing rains will be coming soon.

The church is doing well. Jed and Gloria did a wonderful job, and we are so thankful for their faithfulness. Pray for Jed and Gloria as they are already in Alta Floresta, where they will be starting a church plant.

Even though Covid is still a threat, we have been able to have regular services, visitation, and Bible studies. We are still running the church van and picking up children on Sunday morning. August 8th was Father’s Day here in Brazil, and we had a special service and the church was full. We are having ladies’ meetings every other month as well as men’s meetings. Once a month we have a family activity at the church as a way to encourage families and church fellowship among our people.

We have been able to go out of town to make some visits and set up Bible studies. Due to the distance and the time of fellowship, we are usually served a meal. It has been good to be able to share and teach the Word of God to them. Pray for Adairio, specifically for his salvation.

We have a man, Valdivan, from the church who got Covid and was put on a ventilator. The doctor did not think that there was much hope, but God is in control. He was taken off the ventilator and continues to improve. Lord willing, he should be going home sometime this week. We are so thankful that God hears our prayers and has worked in this man’s life.

We are looking forward to what God will be doing in the days ahead. We have a baptism planned for the month of September and doing studies with those wanting to join the church. We also have some couples that have made professions of faith and are not yet married but living together. So, we are encouraging them in that direction and are starting Bible counseling with one of the couples.

Please continue to pray for the work here, and that God would help us to help the people to keep their focus on HIM!
