It never ceases to amaze me to see how God continually works everything out for His good just as He has promised. And while doing that, He takes care of all our needs and some of our wants. Here we are at the end of August, which is also toward the end of dry season. The entire time we have been in the northern part of Brazil we never recall getting rain this time of the time. It is usually very dry and dusty with a lot of smoke in the air. Praise the Lord, we have gotten rain. It is always welcome after the dry weather just to clear the air and to see the green returning.

The church continues to go forward, not only with the construction part that is almost finished, but in the spiritual sense as well. God continues to work in the lives of the people which is an encouragement to us. Izailton, a man from the church, has really stepped up and is helping with whatever he can. He also has taught our Wednesday Bible study many times. He and his family have sincere hearts for the things of the Lord. Pray for this family.

We also had a wonderful VBS. We started the week with a little over 20 children and ended the week with almost 50. It was a blessing to able to work with these children and present the Gospel to them. As always, there are challenges, but with prayer, patience and perseverance God helped us.

A few weeks ago, we had a young man, Igor, that came forward and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This is always an exciting moment, and this is the reason we proclaim the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for him and his spiritual growth. We have also seen several visitors of late. Please pray with us for their salvation.

September the 7th is Brazil’s Independence Day. It is a day that we as a church go to the river near the city to a private spot and spend the day as a church family and have a baptism. This year, we have two ladies that will be baptized, and we are excited about this.
