Here we are back in the US, and for the most part, been pretty busy. It has been good to see and be with family.
Just before we left Brazil, we had the 6th year anniversary of the church in Guarantã do Norte. As is our custom, we also had our Faith Promise Mission Conference. Our guest speaker was Bro. Scott Allen, the missionary that is taking care of the work while we are stateside. Bro. Allen did a wonderful job in allowing God to work through him to challenge the church about our giving to Faith Promise. We are excited to say that there was an increase in giving. It has been encouraging to see how God has been working in the lives of individuals and families of the church. To God be all the glory.
As I mentioned in our last prayer letter, the drop ceiling and plumbing needed to be done in the church construction. We are rejoicing that all of this was finished before we left. The only part still left is the flooring to be put down and paint on the walls. Thank you so much to everyone that has given toward this project.
Our trip back to the US started out with our first leg of the trip being cancelled. The airline did take care of us, and we got to the US a day behind our schedule but in God’s perfect timing. After arriving in Pensacola, we were able to take Joshua and Gretchen to Kentucky to help them find an apartment and a good church where they will be starting their lives together after marriage. God worked everything out. Then we went and spent a few days with my dad in Greenville, SC, then on to the Chattanooga area to be with Kelly’s parents. With all the travels so far, our van with very high mileage, continues to run well with some general maintenance I was able to do. Continue to pray for us for the graduation (May 13th), weddings (May 16th and June 3rd) and travels, that God would get all the glory in everything.
Continue praying also for the work in Brazil and for Bro. Scott Allen and his wife Donna as they continue carrying the work forward. Pray for the church family as they get more and more involved in every aspect of the work. God continues to bless with new people coming. We had another couple from the church that have been living together finally start the process of getting married. This is always a blessing to us and the church. We also have some that are wanting to get baptized. So shortly after we return, we will be planning a baptism. We are also in the process of getting everything ready for Vacation Bible School in July. Please be in prayer for these upcoming events.
